Participation
Garrison PE classes provide an active, hard-working, fun environment. All students are expected to participate to the best of their ability during the entire class-period with 100% effort, a good attitude and positive encouragement of others.
A student may be excused from total or partial participation for one to three days with a note of explanation from home. The note should be brought to class by the student. It must have the current date, reason for excuse and contact phone number. An excuse for more than three days must be signed by a doctor stating the reason why the student should be excused and how long he/she should be excused.
Dress Policy
Each student must change from their school clothes into separate PE clothes every day.
Uniform:
A comfortable fitting T-shirt.
Shorts without zippers and loops (i.e. jean or khaki shorts) that fit comfortably and are of appropriate length.
Socks must be worn.
Athletic shoes that lace up or Velcro and are supportive.
Jewelry that can be a safety hazard (hanging earrings, etc. ) of any kind is not allowed in P.E. class. This is for your safety and the safety of others. Teachers are not responsible for holding jewelry during class. Lost jewelry will be the responsibility of the student.
No Hats are permitted to be worn during PE class. No sunglasses (unless prescription).
NON-DRESS:
All students will receive a warning the first time they do not change. After the 1st NON-DRESS, two daily points will be deducted from the daily five points; further discipline will be at teacher’s discretion.
Lockers, Locks and PE Facilities
Every student is assigned a locker with a personal combination lock at the beginning of the school year. The locker is to be used to secure items for PE and after-school sports. The combination is for the individual student use only. We strongly discourage students from sharing lockers and/or combinations. Should a student lose their lock, it will be a $5 replacement fee.
It is the expectation of the Garrison PE staff and administration that school property will be respected and not defaced or damaged in any way. Students will be held accountable for any theft, loss, or damage to school equipment and facilities.
